Art Miami 2019
Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to announce our participation in Art Miami. The gallery has exhibited in the Miami art fairs since 2013 and we are thrilled to be showing in Art Miami for the first time. Our booth will exhibit new and recent works from Peter Gronquist.
Peter Gronquist is an American multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, Oregon, where he draws inspiration from the Pacific Northwest. Gronquist’s work ranges from paintings to sculpture to installations, utilizing experimental mediums such as aluminum, ceramic, fabric, mirrors and the environment itself. The artists work forces the viewer to pause, consider and deconstruct what they are experiencing. Gronquist often explores emotion through the use of color and material, and typically channels themes of American consumerism, impermanence, excess and escapism.
For Art Miami, Gronquist will be exhibiting a series of large scale infinity mirrors including Ferns and Roses (pictured above), as well as paintings which play on the viewers sense of perception and have the sense of glowing light from within. Additionally, Gronquist will be exhibiting a piece from his ‘wind memory’ series which captures the rippling movement of wind, a seemingly inconsequential moment in time forever memorialized.
Please join us at Booth AM301 at Art Miami, opening to the public on Wednesday, December 4th and running through the weekend until Sunday, December 8th.
